AARP Driver Safety Program

AARP and Office for the Aging (OFA) partner to co-sponsor an 8-hour driver-training program for persons age 50+. Taking this course will not only update your driving skills, but may reduce your insurance premiums. To register, contact OFA at 607-664-2298.

Mature Driver Program

Assistance is available to individuals who have concerns about the mature older driver. Counseling information and referrals can make addressing this, many-times difficult issue, easier for older drivers and concerned citizens.

Personal Emergency Response

Office for the Aging can provide an overview of personal emergency response service products that provide 24 hour emergency assistance at the push of a button. Call 607-664-2322 for more information.

TRIAD

A joint venture of police agencies, senior service organizations (including OFA) and seniors designed to reduce crime against our county's residents age 60 and over. Services provided by TRIAD include:

  • Educational Presentations - May be arranged for clubs or organizations wishing information about scams, identity theft, and other issues concerning the safety of seniors.
  • Home Security Surveys - Free home inspections by law enforcement personnel to identify potential security risks.
  • Files of Life - are available on request.
