Building Independence for the Long Term (BILT)

The Building Independence for the Long Term (BILT) Program assists applicants/recipients of temporary assistance who present with significant barriers in achieving and maintaining independence. Through the use of barrier assessments, case management services, and interagency collaboration by a multidisciplinary team, clients are provided with critical resources to support their movement towards independence.

The multidisciplinary team consists of a BILT Coordinator, Staff Social Worker, Certified Alcohol/Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), CASAC Assistant, Social Work Assistant (Disability Specialist), Domestic Violence Liaison, Homeless Intervention Specialist, and a Housing Case Manager (STEHP).

In addition, the BILT Program provides assistance with Supplemental Security Income/Social Security Disability (SSI/SSD) applications and appeals, community education, and the coordination of community services.
